Meet our new staff: Jo, Dot and Joy
The Commission has welcomed two new staff in Wellington and a new Regional Field Advisor in Auckland recently. Jo McCabe is our new Policy and Partnerships Advisor, Joy Yang our new Corporate Services Assistant and Dot Dalziell the new Auckland Regional Field Advisor.
Jo has a background in establishing and managing corporate partnerships in the financial services sector. She most recently spent 18 months at the Department of Conservation Te Papa Atawhai, where she held a national role supporting and leading new initiatives with the visitor centre network, and was accountable for delivery of Conservation Week across the Department in 2017. Jo will lead the development of key stakeholder partnerships for the Commission.
Joy has joined the Corporate Services team, and will be providing general admin support for the Commission. She has recently moved down from Auckland, where has been studying towards her PhD in biomedical science. In her spare time, Joy enjoys playing underwater hockey and watching the local comedy scene.
Dot has had a scenic career, taking in bus driving, Anthropology study and early childhood education in Wellington and Dunedin, Māori language immersion in Kirikiriroa, museum collection management in Napier and Auckland, walking and cycling advocacy in Waitākere, and, recently, community environmental partnerships and strategy at Auckland Council. Her core interest is in sustainable development at local and regional scales.
