This scenic walkway provides access to the western shore of Lake Otuhie, south of Cape Farewell in the upper South Island.
It follows Kowhai Creek between Cowin Road and the lake, offering visitors the chance to enjoy the area’s wild landscape and dramatic rock formations.
Conditions
The Lake Otuhie Walkway is closed for the lambing season between 1 August and 30 September.
Some sections of this walkway cross private land. Please stick to the marked route, and respect all signposted conditions of access.
How to get here
Lake Otuhie Walkway can be accessed from Cowin Road, 30km south of Cape Farewell in the upper South Island.
