Developed under NZ conservation legislation, a Conservation Management Strategy (CMS):
- is a statutory planning document covering public conservation land and waters for a region; and
- sets the strategic direction for what can and cannot happen on Public Conservation Land and Waters - managing the natural, cultural, historic and recreational values.
